What is TDEE?

TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) is the total number of calories your body burns each day โ€” including exercise and daily activity. To lose weight, eat below your TDEE (a deficit). To gain, eat above it.

This calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, which is considered the most accurate BMR formula for most people. BMR ร— activity multiplier = TDEE.
